Can Windows and Android devices play MOV files?

Convergence with MP4: MOV and MP4 already nearly identical for common codecs. Practical difference shrinking. Future may see complete interoperability - rename .mov to .mp4 and it works, vice versa. Format "obsolescence" is less relevant when formats are so similar. Both will coexist indefinitely - MP4 for distribution/web, MOV for Apple/professional workflows. Not competition, just different ecosystem preferences. Both based on same spec, both future-proof. Choose based on immediate workflow needs, not obsolescence fears - both are safe long-term.
